With a 24/7 mission designed to protect our Wisconsin (and surrounding states) skies, the 115th Fighter Wing is the place to be. It’s currently home to fifth-generation aircraft – the F-35 Lightning II. You’ll also find F-16 Fighting Falcons from the 148th Fighter Wing on base. They’ve been supporting the 24/7 alert mission during the 115th aircraft conversion.

The 115th Fighter Wing is the premier fighter wing in the Air National Guard. Volk Field Air National Guard Base is known for lighting up the skies with its annual Northern Lightning exercise. If you’ve ever dreamed of meeting people from all over the world, then this is the base you’ll want to be part of! Volk Field Airmen make it possible for all branches of service to come together to train.
As a member of this base, you’ll be the first on the flight-line watching and welcoming military aircraft as they land, and you’ll be the last on the line waving goodbye as they head home.

With your help, fighter jets can fly across the ocean, pilots can accomplish more training in less time, and military personnel can get to and from their training/real-world destinations – all because your refuelers are able to transport passengers and fuel other military aircraft – IN.THE.AIR!
