A public affairs specialist with the Wisconsin Air National Guard’s 115th Fighter Wing has received two awards in the National Guard Bureau Media Contest.
Senior Airman Andrea F. Rhode received a second place award in the Commentary category for a column on 9/11, and a third place award for a news article on collaborative emergency response training with the Wisconsin National Guard and civilian authorities.
“Her can-do attitude, along with her exceptional public affairs expertise, has transformed our ability to tell the 115th Fighter Wing story in a more consistent and timely fashion,” said Capt. Kristin Boustany, 115th Fighter Wing public affairs officer. “Airman Rhode’s contagious professionalism, hard work and positive attitude have not only allowed her to succeed but also set the bar for other Airmen to follow.”
Rhode began her military career in 2010 with the 2nd Bomb Wing of the 8th Air Force. She joined the Wisconsin Air National Guard in July 2012, and works full-time in the 115th Fighter Wing public affairs office.
The National Guard Bureau will begin judging Army National Guard media contest submissions next week.
