MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Army National Guard and local first responders will conduct a training exercise at a Waukesha school March 4.
Local residents should not be alarmed by an increased first responder or military presence the morning of Sunday, March 4, when first responders and the Waukesha-based 135th Area Support Medical Company conduct training at Prairie Elementary School at 1801 Center Road in Waukesha.
Residents can expect to see a heavy presence of emergency response and military personnel from 7:30 a.m. to noon.
The 135th will train alongside fire department personnel from the Town of Waukesha, Vernon, Waterford, Wales-Genesee and Lake Country Fire and Rescue. Aurora Summit Hospital and Flight for Life will also participate in the exercise.
The scenario provides an opportunity for the Soldiers to build partnerships and conduct medical training alongside local first responders.
The Waukesha School District is not involved in the exercise but graciously offered a venue at which first responders and the National Guard Soldiers can train.
