Volk Field to conduct controlled burn at Hardwood Range

VOLK FIELD, Wis. — The U.S. Forest Service will be assisting Volk Field Air National Guard Base personnel in conducting a controlled burn at Hardwood Range complex near Finley, Wisconsin, June 26.

Weather permitting, the controlled burn is scheduled to begin Wednesday, June 26, at 8 a.m.

The primary purpose of the controlled burn is to reduce the likelihood of unplanned and uncontrolled wildfires and enable safe training operations.
