Wisconsin National Guard statement on NGB assessment

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin National Guard leadership received a briefing Saturday (Dec. 7) from the National Guard Bureau’s Office of Complex Investigations (OCI) on the results of an assessment of the organization’s sexual assault and harassment reporting procedures, investigation protocols, and accountability measures.

OCI conducted the assessment at the request of Governor Tony Evers and Sen. Tammy Baldwin and the team spent several months reviewing Wisconsin National Guard programs.

“I want to thank Governor Evers for setting up the briefing and the OCI team for taking the time to brief the team,” said Maj. Gen. Don Dunbar, Wisconsin’s adjutant general. “My team and I are in the process of reviewing the OCI assessment and are focused on its findings and recommendations.”

“We intend to implement all of the recommendations in the report,” he said. “Sexual misconduct has no place in the Wisconsin National Guard.”
